Step 1: Submit the FAFSA
The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and is used to determine your eligibility for federal and state financial aid such as grants, scholarships, work-study, and loans. The FAFSA for the 2026-2027 academic year is now open. You may also still complete a FAFSA for the current 2025-2026 academic year. Check studentaid.gov for specific dates and updates.
