Military Scholarships & Aid
Below is a helpful list of outside scholarships available to active duty service members, veterans, and their eligible dependents and spouses. Each section shows who qualifies for the scholarships listed—just click on the one that fits you and start your application. | Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) | If you're employed by a government or nonprofit organization, you might be eligible for the PSLF Program. The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after you've made the equivalent of 120 qualifying monthly payments under an accepted repayment plan, and while working full-time for an eligible employer. |
| Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program (TASSP) | Each year the governor and the lieutenant governor may each appoint two students, and each state senator and representative may appoint one student to receive an initial conditional scholarship award. |

| American Legion Legacy Scholarship | Provides college funding to children of post 9/11 veterans who died in active duty, or those who have a combined VA disability rating of 50 percent or greater. |
| Fallen Patriots | With a mission to provide college scholarships and educational counseling to the children of military personnel who have passed away in the line of duty, Fallen Patriots’ goal is to bridge the gap in funding between available sources of grants and scholarships and the total cost of college. |
| Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund | The Freedom Alliance Scholarship fund is for the children of military personnel who have been killed or permanently disabled in a combat mission or training accident. |
| Gilman-McCain Scholarship | For undergraduate children and spousal dependents of active or activated United States military personnel during the time of application. |
| Green Beret Foundation | Provide three scholarships for the children of Green Berets pursuing their undergraduate degrees. |
| Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association | Offers four different scholarships to children or grandchildren of members of the Fleet Reserve Association and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association. Deadline for all scholarships is April 15 of each year. |
| Maj. Gen. James Ursano Scholarship Program | The Maj. Gen James Ursano Scholarship Program is based on applicants' financial needs and was established to assist children of soldiers in obtaining their first undergraduate degrees. Applicants may receive assistance for up to four academic years but must meet eligibility criteria and reapply each year. |
| Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation | As our Nation's oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships to military children, the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation helps cover the cost of attending post-high school, undergraduate, and career and technical education programs. |
| Navy League of the United States | College should never be out of reach for a family member of the sea services. Scholarships are available to children and grandchildren of veterans or active duty sea service men and women, as well as members of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps. |
| No Greater Sacrifice | No Greater Sacrifice (NGS) is dedicated to the children of our nation's fallen and wounded service members (post 9/11/01) by delivering scholarships and resources to improve their quality of life through the pursuit of higher education. |
| The Tailhook Educational Foundation | Offers scholarships to high school graduates and children or grandchildren of a current or former Naval Aviator, Naval Flight Officer, or Air-Crewman. Also, children/grandchildren of individuals who served onboard a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier. |

| Air Force Aid Society | AFAS education support and tuition assistance is available to dependent sons and daughters of active duty, Title 10 Reservists on extended active duty, Title 32 Guard performing full-time active duty, retired Reserve and deceased Air Force or Space Force members, as well as spouses of active duty and Title 10 Reservists, and widows/widowers. |
| Anchor Scholarship Foundation | Anchor Scholarship Foundation provides scholarships to eligible family members (children and spouses) of active duty, retired, and honorably discharged Surface Navy personnel. |
| Dolphin Scholarship Foundation | Dolphin Scholarship Foundation grants are available, on a competitive basis, to high school or college children/stepchildren and spouses of members or former members of the submarine force or those who have served in submarine support activities. |
| Folds of Honor | Applications are accepted each year between February 1 and March 31. If March 31 falls on a weekend, the deadline date will be extended to the close of the first business day following March 31. |
| Wings Over America | Wings Over America Scholarship Foundation annually sponsors 50 scholarships to further the postsecondary education of Navy dependents from the aviation community. Most scholarships are $5,000 and some are renewable. |

| Mrs. Patty Shinseki Spouse Scholarship Program | Army spouses pursuing an undergraduate degree or professional certification may receive assistance for up to four academic years of full-time study or eight academic years of part-time study. Spouses may apply year-round (no deadlines) and must re-apply every year. |
| National Military Family Association (NMFA) | Lots of scholarships out there say they're just for military spouses. But with rank limitations, degree restrictions, and other hoops to jump through, it can be frustrating and easier to simply give up. The NMFA promises exclusive scholarships only for military spouses. |

| Army Aviation Association of American (AAAA) | The AAAA Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit, established to give financial assistance for the college-level education of members of the Army Aviation Association of America. |
| Edith Nourse Rogers STEM Scholarship | The Edith Nourse Rogers Science Technology Engineering Math STEM Scholarship allows some eligible veterans and dependents in high-demand fields to extend their Post 9/11 GI Bill® or Fry Scholarship benefits. |
| Fleet Reserve Association Education Foundation | Students may apply for Foundation scholarships if they are a FRA member in good standing or affiliated with the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps or Coast Guard through their own service or that of a spouse, parent, grandparent or great-grandparent. Scholarship recipients must be U.S. citizens and full-time students at an accredited U.S. trade school, community college, college or university. |
| Marines' Memorial Association & Foundation | Offers undergraduate, graduate, vocational, and associate degree scholarships to active duty service members, veterans, Marines' Memorial members and their children and grandchildren based on merit and financial need. |
| Military Order of the Purple Heart Scholarship Program | A competitive program that awards scholarships to Purple Heart recipients and their spouses, children, and grandchildren each year. |
| Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society | The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Education program offers grants and interest-free loans for undergraduate or master's degree at an accredited 2- or 4-year post-secondary, technical or vocational institution in the United States. |
| Paralyzed Veterans of America | Paralyzed Veterans of America offers funds to PVA members and their immediate family members through our Educational Scholarship Program. |
| Veterans United Foundation | Offers scholarships to veterans with 100% service-connected disability, a surviving spouse and child of a deceased service member from a service-related death. |

| Captain James Ahn Scholarship | This program is open to veterans of Special Forces within the U.S. military. Applicants must be enrolled full time at a college, university, community college, vocational/technical school, or graduate school. |
| MENSA Foundation Scholarships | This program is open to veterans who are enrolled or planning to enroll in a degree program at an accredited American institution of postsecondary education as an undergraduate or graduate student. Membership in Mensa is not required, but applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. |
| Energy Polymer Group (EPG) Veterans Scholarship | Veteran scholarship applicants must be an honorably discharged veteran. Members of the Energy Polmer Group are also eligible to receive a veteran’s scholarship. |
| Hill & Ponton Veterans Scholarships | This program is open to veterans who are enrolled or planning to enroll at a college or university in any state. Applicants must submit a 300-word essay on how they plan to use their education to help fellow veterans. |
| Student Veterans of America (SVA) | Apply for open scholarships from SVA's Partners. These are distributed to top student veterans in a manner that doesn't interfere with the G.I. Bill or other financial aid and total over $100,000 annually. Scholarships from Raytheon, Google, and Comcast NBCUniversal. |
| VFW's "Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship" | Provides service members and veterans with the financial assistance they need to complete their educational goals without incurring excessive student loan debt. |

| Pat Tillman Foundation | The Pat Tillman Foundation identifies remarkable military service members, veterans and spouses, empowering them with academic scholarships, lifelong leadership development opportunities and a diverse, global community of high-performing mentors and peers. The scholarship is available to active duty service members, veterans, and military spouses. |
