The Board of Regents approved a tuition increase of 6% for the 2024-2025 academic year. Baylor previously eliminated the distinction between tuition and the general student fee by combining both into a single tuition rate.

Election of the 2024-2025 Guaranteed Tuition Option (GTO) will begin June 1, 2024 and the deadline to enroll is July 31, 2024 (Fall due date).
Baylor University's Guaranteed Tuition Option offers students the opportunity to lock in a four-year tuition rate instead of paying the regular tuition rate, which is subject to increase annually. Participation in the Guaranteed Tuition Option eliminates uncertainty about the cost of tuition, and it allows students and families to prepare their educational budgets more accurately.
2024 - 2025 Tuition Rates
Undergraduate students enrolling full-time (12 hours or more) in the Fall of 2024 will be charged one of the following tuition rates:
Semester Rate | Annual Rate | |
Regular Tuition Rate | $29,050 | $58,100 |
Guaranteed Tuition Option | $30,950 | $61,900 |
Students will be charged the regular tuition rate if no election is made. Undergraduate students who lock in the guaranteed rate but enroll in fewer than 12 hours in a fall/spring semester will pay an hourly rate of $2,580 per hour. Students in need of more than four years (48 months) to complete their Baylor education will be charged tuition at the University's regular rate in the fifth year and in any subsequent years.

Election to Participate
Election of the 2024-2025 Guaranteed Tuition Option will begin June 1, 2024 and the deadline to elect is July 31, 2024 (Fall due date). During the enrollment period, students may enroll by logging into BearWeb > Student Financial Resources > Guaranteed Tuition Option.
By electing to participate in the Guaranteed Tuition Option, students choose to pay a tuition rate which is initially higher than the regular rate. However, the guaranteed tuition rate is fixed and will not increase over the 48-month enrollment period. A student who graduates and continues his/her graduate studies at Baylor during the 48-month enrollment period will continue to be charged tuition at the guaranteed hourly rate during the period.
Cancellation
Enrollment in the Guaranteed Tuition Option may be canceled at any time by contacting Student Accounts. Notice received within the first two weeks of a semester will terminate the election effective that semester. When notice is received after the first two weeks of a semester, termination will become effective (and the student will be charged the regular tuition rate) beginning the following semester.

---|---|
What are the benefits of the Guaranteed Tuition Rate vs Traditional Tuition Rate? | The Guaranteed Tuition Rate ensures that your tuition price remains the same for four years, covering eight consecutive fall and spring semesters. This fixed rate helps you plan and budget with certainty, as you’ll know exactly what you’ll pay for tuition during this period. In contrast, Traditional Tuition Rates can increase each year, making it harder to predict and manage your costs. |
Who is eligible for the Guaranteed Tuition Rate? | First-year undergraduate students and transfer students are eligible for the Guaranteed Tuition Option. |
If I participate in the Texas Tomorrow Fund, or have a 529 Plan, am I still eligible to opt into the Guaranteed Tuition Option? | Yes |
What if I enroll in a Study Abroad Program? | The Guaranteed Tuition Rate will apply to the tuition portion of your charges for the semester(s) you are enrolled in a Study Abroad Program. However, any program fees associated with the Study Abroad Program will not be covered by the Guaranteed Tuition Rate. |
What happens if I don’t graduate in four years or am enrolled in a 5-year Accelerated program? | The Guaranteed Tuition Rate covers tuition for up to four years. For any additional semesters beyond the initial eight, such as in a 5-year Accelerated program, you will be charged the traditional rate. Please note that this rate for the fifth year is not yet published and will be available around March of the preceding year. |
Can I enroll in the Guaranteed Tuition Option, leave school for a semester or a year, and return to the plan? | No, the Guaranteed Tuition Rate applies only to four consecutive years of enrollment. If you take a break, you would not be able to return to the plan. |
What are the summer tuition rates under the Guaranteed Tuition Option? | The Guaranteed Tuition Rate only applies to Fall and Spring semesters. Summer tuition rates are separate and vary based on the new hourly rate for the upcoming school year. Students with the Guaranteed Tuition Rate will pay the traditional Fall/Spring rate for summer courses. |
How do I opt in to the Guaranteed Tuition Rate? | Election of the Guaranteed Tuition Option begins each year on June 1 and the deadline to enroll is July 31 (Fall semester due date). Tuition Refund Insurance
Baylor University is pleased to offer an optional service that helps protect the student from financial loss in the event of an unexpected accident or illness resulting in the student's withdrawal from classes.
Your education is important. So are the dollars that you spend on tuition.
Each semester, thousands of college students across the nation are unable to complete their classes due to unforeseen medical issues. At Baylor, the timing of a withdrawal determines the refund percentage for tuition and fees (see our withdrawal refund policy). We understand medical hardships can quickly become financial hardships, which is why we are pleased to bring your attention to an insurance product offered to Baylor students by GradGuard.
Tuition Refund Insurance can help refund your tuition, fees, and other costs of attendance, up to the policy limits, if you are unable to complete the semester due to a covered medical reason such as an illness, accident, or mental health issue. Tuition Refund Insurance complements and enhances Baylor’s refund policy and helps protect your educational investment.
Purchasing tuition insurance is entirely optional. Please note, if you choose to use tuition insurance, it must be purchased prior to the first day of classes. Whether you choose to purchase coverage (and at what level) will depend on your individual net cost and your personal risk appetite.
Please visit GradGuard.com/Tuition/Baylor for more information. To enroll, log in to the E-Bill System and follow the prompts.
For a comprehensive cost estimate, see Baylor's Cost of Attendance.
