Additional Direct Loan Request
If you are a dependent student whose parent is unable to apply for a Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan, your parent may request that you be considered for an Additional Federal Direct Unsubsidized Student Loan. Your parent should complete the request form for the appropriate aid year below.
If your parent has applied for a Direct PLUS Loan but was denied, you may also receive consideration for an Additional Direct Unsubsidized Loan. Denied parent applicants do NOT need to complete the form below. Instead, your parent would indicate on their denied application in the ‘Credit Action Choice’ section that they are no longer pursuing a Direct PLUS loan – this will result in automatic consideration for an Additional Direct Unsubsidized Loan.
Graduate students are not eligible for Additional Direct Unsubsidized Loans.
